It was love at first sight for Arthur and I when we first met at his foster home and I officially adopted him from Michigan Samoyed Rescue on May 9, 2001.
Sir Arthur - all 87 pounds of him - settled right in as lord of the castle, a reign he enjoyed until the day after Thanksgiving 2002, when Sasha came to "visit" as a MSR foster dog.

I'm not sure who decided Sasha needed to stay here, her or me, but, on Dec. 29, Princess Sasha officially joined Sir Arthur as a member of the family, which also includes Queen Snow, a Miniature American Eskimo, who was adopted from the local humane society, and their loyal subjects - the two humans.
Sir Arthur is our gentle giant: intimidating at first sight, but a puppy at heart who loves everyone and everything. Arthur has his own "junk yard," in which he stashes his cache of pilfered treasures.

Princess Sasha has had a hard life and has a stiff rear leg to prove it, but that doesn't stop her - she climbs stairs and particularly loves getting up on the sofa and laying her head in mom's lap or playing with her tennis balls.
Sir Arthur is the barker; Princess Sasha is the "talker" and Queen Snow just shakes her superior little head in disbelief - squeezing her way in between the two Sammys for her own little bit of attention.

The castle is full, the royal family is complete and who can resist those Sammy smiles? Not I.

L to R Snow, Sasha Arthur
